Favorite Things

Seems like this blog should be renamed "Cadence's Blog." I've been posting so much about her lately, but we've become "those parents" and she's the center of our world.

My first favorite thing makes me laugh just thinking about it! Cadence has started running. ALL THE TIME! And it's hilarious! It's like her body is in two separate pieces joined at her waist and they both pivot in opposite directions while she runs. Oh, and she holds her arms up too.

Second thing: Cadence LOVES getting ready for bed. More specifically brushing her teeth. As soon as I suggest getting ready for bed, she does her crazy run to the baby gate and then once I open it, she's already halfway down the hall. She willingly let's me brush all her teeth an then she takes a turn.

Third thing: she's so good about going down for bed or a nap! Like today, after she had been crying uncontrollably for 15 minutes straight, I suggested that she might need a nap. I was expecting her to cry harder or throw something (that's her new thing lately when she's mad about something), but she immediately ran over to the gate and then on into her room! I set her in her bed and handed her bear blanket to her. She laid right down, snuggled her bear, waved nite-nite to the Easter Bunny sticky on her window and then was quiet! It was almost like she was saying, "what took you this long to figure this out?!" :)

Fourth thing (this one's not about Cadence): I planted a square foot garden! I've got most of my frost tolerant plants in (lettuce, spinach, etc), and now I'm just waiting for it to warm up a bit more so I can plant my "fruiting" plants. I'm pretty excited and can't wait for veggies!

Fifth thing: Derek got me 5 amigurumi crochet books and I've been creating some cuteness around here! Two books have food patterns and three have patterns for animals and toys. Pretty soon Cadence will have a full plushy zoo and a well stocked plushy kitchen! :D

My kids have been the same way about napsbedtime. they get crabby and fussy and I lay them down for naps and they are happy and asleep. Can't wait to read morea about your garden. I am always learning from others. I am getting ready to head outside (like literally now) to plant my onions I keep putting off. I can't wait until sometime around mother's day when I can plant the rest too.
